T-bone rollover crash on Hannegan Road sends 1 to the hospital

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the intersection of Hannegan Road and E Smith Road today, November 26th, about 2:30pm due to a report of a rollover crash.

North Whatcom Fire & Rescue Fire Chief Jason Van der Veen told Whatcom News they had 3 patients at the crash scene including 1 that required firefighters’ assistance in getting out of a Toyota Highlander that ended up on its side facing south on Hannegan Road.

There were 2 vehicles involved in the primary crash and a third was collaterally involved.

A SUV with heavy front-end damage was in a parking lot at the southwest corner of the intersection.

Van der Veen said 1 patient was transported by ambulance to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies were on-scene and investigating the crash.
