Neighbors woke to “road closed” signs on Malloy Avenue this morning. According to public works staff, this is due to paving work north of Thornton Street on Malloy Ave. They thought this was a two-day project that would continue into tomorrow.
No information from the city with specific details and detour information has been received yet.

According to city sources, the road closure begins at Seamount Drive with only local traffic allowed on Malloy Avenue north of Seamount Drive. Malloy Avenue is also closed east of Thornton Street to Jensen Street and Thornton Street is closed east of Malloy Avenue. These closures are expected to be enforced between 7am and 5:30pm today and tomorrow.
Traffic is being detoured around the work area via Vista Drive and Aldergrove Road.
