ORIGINAL STORY
For many the power has been restored but for many it is “day two” of going without power.

According to Puget Sound Energy this morning,

Our crews worked throughout the night last night to restore power to customers affected by Saturday’s strong wind storm that swept across our entire service area. As of 6 a.m. more than 97,000 customers in more than 2,200 locations are without power across our service area. We’ve restored power to nearly 75 percent of affected customers.

Nearly 60 reported power outage locations remain without power in the Ferndale area as of 8am, Sunday, August 30th. According to PSE, these outages are affecting about 7,800 customers. Part of the challenge for PSE has been communicating through their website and mobile apps as the computers providing data to the website and apps became overwhelmed by the volume of requests.

Many of the outages occurred in the early morning hours today, August 30th, while other locations have been without power since before 10am yesterday. Many businesses east of the Nooksack River on Main Street saw their power restored yesterday only to return this morning to find it off again.
