SUMAS, Wash. — City of Sumas officials announced they will be doing an annual test of the local flood siren at 10am on Friday, November 4th, and it is expected to “only last a couple minutes.”
UPDATE: City of Sumas officials announced about 1:30pm on Thursday that the test was postponed, “due to the current weather system forecasted for our area.”
Outside of tests, the siren is typically activated to warn residents when the Nooksack River has breached its banks uphill in Everson as was done during last year’s disastrous mid-November flooding.
