Winds today have been blustery with gusts between 25 and 45mph. But forecasters warn the Ferndale area can expect stronger winds overnight.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory and it is in effect until 9am tomorrow. Sustained northeast winds of 15 to 30mph with gusts of 50mph are possible according to the advisory. These winds are known by locals as Fraser Valley outflow.
Cold temperatures are also a concern, especially when combined with the winds. Unseasonal subfreezing temperatures are expected to remain until Thursday.
