The victim’s mother asked Discover Ferndale to post “a huge thanks to the Ferndale community for keeping their eyes open for my son’s longboard.”
Yesterday, Discover Ferndale posted a story about a “longboard”-style skateboard that had been reported stolen.
Today, thanks to the community effort to watch for the skateboard, it was returned to its rightful owner and the identity of the person found with it given to police.
A neighbor had seen the longboard in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. When the person with it noticed he was being watched, he took off. A little while later, after contacting the victim’s parents, they were able to locate the individual, who was convinced it was in their best interests to hand over the longboard. Police were then notified of the situation.
