Speed was given as the cause of a single vehicle crash yesterday evening, Saturday, April 9th, that left a Bellingham man dead.
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) said the crash occurred in the 2100 block of Lummi View Drive about 7pm when the vehicle, a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse, was southbound on Lummi View Drive in the vicinity of the Lummi Stommish Grounds when it failed to navigate a corner and crashed into a tree.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, Juan C. Aldana, age 23, died at the scene of the crash. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were considered a factor in the crash according to the WSP.
