Southwest officials said Bellingham will be the northernmost airport they serve. In March, when Southwest stated their intention to begin flights through Bellingham, they said Bellingham positioned them close to Vancouver, BC and, once the border reopens, they expect to serve Canadian travelers who already drive to Bellingham International Airport “to escape high fares and taxes.”
