FERNDALE, Wash. — Main Street and W Axton Road were reopened overnight according to City of Ferndale officials.
Motorists struggled yesterday while main arterials around the Ferndale were closed due to flood waters and debris encroaching roadways. Adding to the challenge, all northbound I-5 lanes and a southbound lane of I-5 were also closed in the Ferndale area.
This morning, Wednesday, November 17th, Ferndale officials said Main Street had been reopened on both sides of I-5.
Washington State Department of Transportation said I-5 mainline lanes in both directions were open as were the I-5 on- and off-ramps at the Main Street interchange (milepost 262).
Whatcom County Public Works (WCPW) has reopened Imhof Road south of Douglas Road, Ferndale road north of Slater to Ulrich Road and Ulrich Road between S Church and Ferndale Road after they had been closed.
