Whatcom County Fire District 7 personnel were dispatched to Locker Room Fitness at 1859 Main Street today at 9:45am today, March 12th, due to a report of a dryer fire.
Initial reports from the scene were of visible smoke coming from the building.
Firefighters reported knocking down the fire within 15 minutes of being dispatched.

Click for more informationWCFD7 Fire Chief Larry Hoffman said the business suffered smoke and water damage throughout.
WCFD7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said the Whatcom County Fire Marshal had been requested to investigate the cause of the fire.
Boyko said there was minor damage to the neighboring Dollar Store business but it remained open for business.
Officials with Locker Room Fitness announced about 11am they would be “closed until further notice due to mechanical fire in our laundry room.”
