While last night’s snow event passed Ferndale by for the most part, wet roads froze overnight creating challenging driving conditions this morning.

One person was reported injured when a pickup truck left the road and crashed into a tree eastbound in the 1700 block of Harksell Road in the S-curves at Enterprise Road.

Few vehicles could be seen on area roads after 8am but most who were appeared aware of the danger of slick roads and reduced their speeds accordingly.

Pedestrians were not immune to the ice and could be seen struggling with their footing on sidewalks and in crosswalks.

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) advises four-wheel and all-wheel vehicles do not stop or steer better on ice.
