Readers have been asking about how the Whatcom County Public Works projects on Slater Road are coming along as they look forward fewer or no delays in the near future.
There are two separate projects going on west of I-5 on Slater Road. Details provided by Whatcom County Public Works for each:
- Nooksack River Bridge Painting
Scheduled to begin in May and be completed in September.
Latest: Single lane flagged traffic will be in effect Tuesday, September 8 through Friday, September 11. - Slater Road Intersections
This project began early July and includes widening and adding turn lanes on Slater Road where it intersects with Imhof and Ferndale Roads. It is scheduled to be completed in early October.
Latest: Single lane flagged traffic should be expected. Expect long delays.
