Updated: Single vehicle crash on I-5 in Bellingham Tuesday

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — About 11:25am on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, due to report of a crash in the northbound lanes of I-5 between Northwest Avenue and Meridian Street interchanges.

Initial reports were a vehicle traveling southbound when it drove into the median and the median cable barrier kept it from reaching the northbound lanes.

UPDATE: On northbound I-5 at Northwest Avenue in Bellingham, the left lane is blocked due to a collision.

Northbound traffic was reduced to a single lane through the crash scene until about 3:15pm.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding told Whatcom News the collision non-injury. The driver was arrested on outstanding warrants from Bellingham Police and taken to Whatcom County Jail. Harding did not immediately cite a cause.
