Many of our people on the Lummi reservation have been experiencing power outages, which can be incredibly harmful to the wellbeing of our elders, children and people in need of medical assistance. All people are entitled to the basic human rights of a roof over their head, food and water. As Lummi People, we have a sacred responsibility to take care of one another; a teaching that has been passed down to us from our elders and ancestors. We will do all that we can to ensure our people are taken care of during these harsh weather conditions.

The Lummi Communications Department will be sending out notifications by text and Facebook to disseminate information about services for those that do not have a place to go during these weather conditions and for those that might be impacted by another power outage.
