Forecasters have advised of showers and the potential for a bit more tonight.
The Seattle office of the National Weather Service said to expect a some weather tonight as showers are likely along with a slight chance of thunderstorms as well. Some of these storms may contain small hail, brief heavy rains and gusty winds.
According to the weather radar just before 9:30pm (see looping graphic), it would appear the first of these systems is very close.
UPDATE 2am
The expected weather didn’t actually arrive to the Ferndale area until after 1:00am this morning. A tenth of an inch of rain was recorded during the hour following and several lightning strikes were detected about 16 miles away to the northeast.
