BELLINGHAM, Wash. — What-Comm 911 call receivers were reported inundated with calls from people reporting several shots having been fired in the area of an apartment complex in the Cordata neighborhood.
First responders were dispatched to the 2000 block of W Horton Road due to the reports of shots fired shortly before 8pm last night, January 25th. Bellingham Police, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol personnel responded.

Meridian Street at Cordata Parkway was momentarily closed during the initial investigation.
Witnesses reported via social media seeing shots fired from multiple vehicles and from people walking past the apartment complex. There were no reports of any injuries.
Bellingham Police Department Spokesperson Lieutenant Claudia Murphy told Whatcom News that officers arrived and “noted evidence of shots being fired.” She confirmed no one appears to have been injured in this incident. BPD officers and detectives “interviewed a number of witnesses and are currently still investigating the incident.”
