“Sheet of ice” road conditions reported in northwest Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — A Washington State Patrol trooper radioed their dispatch about 8:45am on Thursday, December 25, 2025, reporting road conditions on Birch Bay-Lynden Road between Lynden and I-5 “is a sheet of ice.”

While temperatures at the time were around 32° in Blaine, temperatures were just below 40° in Lynden and Ferndale.
