Serious injury crash closes State Street in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 1:05pm on Friday, May 19th, to the 1700 block of N State Street due to a report of an injury crash.

According to the PulsePoint EMS dispatch log, at least 1 patient was transported from the scene via a medic unit which typically is used to provide advanced life support (ALS) protocol.

Unconfirmed radio transmissions from law enforcement at the scene said a motorcyclist and the driver of another vehicle were transported from the scene to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.

Bellingham Police Department (BPD) announced about 1:45pm that N State Street was closed from Meador to Franklin in both directions while BPD traffic officers and crime scene investigater’s investigated the “serious vehicle collision.”

Bellingham Public Works will be setting road barricades.

Update 2:50pm – BPD said N State Street has been reopened.
