EVERSON, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the 6300 block of Lawrence Road (SR9) about 11:35am Tuesday, March 15th, due to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
Washington State Trooper Jacob Kennett told Whatcom News troopers had been dispatched to the same area just before due to a report of a subject sitting in the road.

Kennett said they were told shortly after there had been a pedestrian struck by a semi-truck at the same location.
According to law enforcement radio dispatches from the scene, CPR was provided in an attempt to resuscitate the victim, but, according to Kennett, the victim was eventually declared dead at the scene.
Kennett said a detour around the crash site was being set up via Siper and Hopewell Roads and Lawrence Road was expected to be closed for about 2 hours while WSP investigates the incident.
Update 2:45pm: Kennett said the road had been reopened to all traffic in both directions. The investigation continued.
