Personnel from the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office along with Lummi Nation Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation could be seen along the 2600 block of Cagey Road today as a search warrant was executed on a non tribal residence. The road was temporarily blocked off between Chief Martin Road and Lummi Shore Road as a result. At least one lane was reopened by 1:20pm according to Lummi Communications.
Lummi Nation Police put out a notice earlier today advising, “There is no threat to the community, and all parties involved were in custody prior to the search. […] We ask that community members avoid the area until the search is completed.”
Gene O. Parker, age 31, and Robert K. Chase, age 54, who were recently arrested for suspicion of 1st degree attempted murder, have a residence in the 2600 block of Cagey Road according to court documents. Both remain in custody at the Whatcom County Jail awaiting trial according to jail records.
