Acknowledging, “There were some rough edges starting out, but I think this reflects working through that,” Ferndale School Board President Dr Kevin Erickson presented a revised governing policy regarding the role and responsibilities of the Bond Oversight Committee during tonight’s regular school board meeting at Vista Middle School.

Erickson was referring to the difference in opinion revealed during the early discussion of the governing policy during a special meeting of the board and members of the committee last Wednesday.

After a brief discussion between some board directors, the policy was adopted as drafted by unanimous vote.

The revised policy is provided in its entirety below.

Committee members had provided their bylaws to the board, Erickson said. The board will review that document to be able to discuss and incorporate input from the project manager hired by the district at the April regular school board meeting.
