NOOKSACK, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the area of Nooksack Road (SR9) and S Pass Road Tuesday, July 26th, about 6:45am due to a report of a non-injury crash involving a semi-truck with power lines in the roadway.
Initial reports from the scene were that the truck was hauling wood products and the southbound lane of Nooksack Road was blocked through the crash scene.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Jacob Kennett told Whatcom News the driver was cited for distracted driving. He confirmed the trailer was loaded with cedar wood fence posts.
Puget Sound Energy and several Whatcom News readers have reported a power outage in the Nooksack/Everson area since the crash occurred. PSE says it impacts 1,331 customer addresses.

As of 12:30pm, PSE crews were still working to restore power to about 41 of their customers’ addresses.
This approximately the same location as another semi-truck incident about a month ago.
