Roadwork scheduled on Slater and Hannegan Roads this weekend

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The City of Ferndale and Whatcom County Public Works departments have announced roadwork projects on Saturday and Sunday that are expected to impact traffic on main arterials.

Motorists on Slater Road will be detoured around a half-mile road closure between LaBounty Drive and Rural Avenue scheduled from 7am and 5pm on Saturday, September 24th. The closure is for a road paving project.

Motorists on the 10.5-mile section of Hannegan Road from E Bakerview Road north to the Nooksack River bridge in Lynden will encounter a rolling pavement striping work crew beginning at 6:30am on Sunday, September 25th. Long delays can be expected.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes around both road projects.
