Roadside “promposal” – did it work?

brielle prom invite mosaicLeveraging the success of the popular Burma Shave highway advertising campaigns that began in the 1920s, a Ferndale High School student set up his own roadside signage to pose an invite to the upcoming FHS prom to a special someone.

This morning, every driver heading south on Enterprise Road was treated to a uniquely clever prom invitation. But the message was only intended for one and appears to leave you hanging, not knowing who is doing the inviting. So Discover Ferndale did a little digging and uncovered “the rest of the story.”

Unbeknownst to his girlfriend, Brielle, Nathan Slaton was up very early this morning installing the roadside messaging so it would be in place by the time she headed off to school. And for Brielle, like the rest of us, there was that hanging feeling of wondering who might be behind clever prom invitation.

But once she arrived at the FHS student parking lot, all questions were answered as Nathan was waiting and holding the final bit of the invitation that simply read, “ME.”

So did Brielle say “yes” to the elaborate “promposal?” Nathan told Discover Ferndale her answer was indeed, “Yes!”
