GLACIER, Wash. — Officials with Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced yesterday, September 28th, that the last 4 miles of the Mount Baker Highway (SR542) will be temporarily closed next week.

The road closures are planned from 7am to 4pm daily from Monday, October 3rd, to Friday, October 7th.

WSDOT crews need access to the roadway, shoulders and surrounding areas in order to perform the annual maintenance.

These closures are separate from the annual winter closure of the last 2.7 miles of Mount Baker Highway leading to the Artist Point parking lot that typically occurs between October and June.
