FERNDALE, Wash. — As previously reported, WSDOT crews are scheduled to be making repairs to the road surface in the northbound lanes of I-5 beginning at 10pm tonight and continue until 7pm Tuesday. As a result, 1 lane of northbound I-5 will be closed during the project and delays can be expected.
WSDOT officials say the work is to “repair and replace old, damaged pavement.”
Originally scheduled to begin at 2am on Monday, July 8th, it was determined crews needed additional time to complete the project and the start time was moved forward to 10pm this evening, July 7th.
The right lane of northbound I-5 from the Slater Road interchange and the on-ramp to northbound I-5 at Slater Road is expected to be closed tonight beginning at 10pm and remain closed until Monday evening. Crews will then reopen the northbound right lane and on-ramp and close the left lane of northbound I-5 in the same area. All lanes are expected to be reopened by 7pm on Tuesday, July 9th.
Traffic backups can be expected and using alternative routes is urged as the repair work is considered to result in a “high impact.”
