According to the National Weather Service RED FLAG WARNING this morning,
A THERMAL PRESSURE TROUGH NEAR THE COAST IS PEAKING IN STRENGTH
THIS MORNING. NORTH-NORTHEAST WINDS ARE INCREASING IN THE WARNING
AREA AND ARE BRINGING IN A WARM AND DRY CONTINENTAL AIR MASS.
These conditions only serve to worsen the area’s fire danger and the winds will spread quickly any fires that do start. Complete burn bans in place within both the county and city are being tightly enforced.
If you live in the Pacific Northwest, it is likely you are not acclimated to these conditions. So remember to take care of animals, children and yourself by staying out of the sun and drinking plenty of water through the day.
