Private property rights topics to be discussed during evening forums at Community Center

Members of the Whatcom County Association of Realtors (WCAR) are hosting presentations focused on private property rights during the evenings of Monday, May 21st, through Thursday, May 24th, at the Pioneer Pavilion Community Center. This is a repeat of similar forums held at this time last year.

Different topics will be covered each night from 6:30pm to 8pm. Topics scheduled are

  • Monday – Navigating Whatcom County’s permitting process, conditional use permits and non-conforming issues
  • Tuesday – Alternative housing and ADUs (accessory dwelling units), overregulation and impacts on affordable housing
  • Wednesday – Off road vehicles, farm planning and farm-to-table
  • Thursday – Food truck rally (5pm) and Q&A forum

According to WCAR, the presentations are free and open to the public. Doors open at 6pm (except 5pm on Thursday as noted).
