FERNDALE, Wash. — Puget Sound Energy reported 783 of their customers lost power about 8:50am this morning, June 23rd.
The official cause cited as of 9:55am was “bird or animal.” Whatcom County Fire District 7 firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of Brown Road and Vista Drive for a blown transformer with arcing wires about 8:50am.

As of 9:20am, PSE estimated power would be restored by 11am.
At 10am, PSE reported they had completed the work to restore power to more than half of those originally impacted. 367 PSE customers were reported to still be without power (see graphic below).

As of 10:35am, PSE estimates power will be restored by 6pm to the remaining 306 customers impacted.
