FERNDALE, Wash. — Nearby residents are reporting a power outage in the area of Northwest Drive and W Laurel Road after first responders were dispatched about 7:35am on Monday, September 12th, to a report of a car versus pole crash at that location.

Initial radioed reports from the scene were of a single vehicle crash with possible injuries. Law enforcement spoke of needing to close the northbound lane of Northwest Drive.
Motorists would be well-advised to avoid the area.
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) reported 210 of their customer addresses were impacted by the outage. The initial estimate for restoring power was 10am.
While not confirmed to be related to the nearby power outage, the electronic traffic signals at Main Street, northbound I-5 off-/on-ramps and Barrett Road were reported to be not functioning about the same time.

Power to the Main Street traffic signals and all but 68 PSE customer addresses was restored by 8:30am. The estimate at that time for restoring power to the remaining customers was 2pm. At 12:25pm, it was extended to 6pm.
