Portal Way I-5 ramps reopened early

City of Ferndale staff announced during this evening’s commute drivers can resume using the northbound I-5 on- and off-ramps that have been closed since Monday, August 13th.

In addition, staff said, the new compact roundabout is now complete and fully functional.

The closure of the northbound I-5 ramps at Portal Way had resulted in long backups along Main Street and also along the I-5 siding extending from the beginning of the Main Street off-ramp

Staff took to Facebook to say, “Big thanks to Colacurcio Brothers construction, Reichhardt & Ebe Engineering, WSDOT and our Public Works team for delivering the project on time and within budget.”
