The oddly shaped vacant lot between the Ferndale Post Office and Ace Hardware is due to be the location for residences and businesses according to a Ferndale businessman.

According to documents filed with the city, four triplex residential buildings, two duplex residential buildings and one mixed use building (retail at ground level with residential unit above) are being proposed to be built on the lot. The property will share the driveway off of 4th Avenue with Ace Hardware.

Sam Boulos, the developer behind the project being referred to as the Fourth Avenue Village, told Discover Ferndale he is very excited for this project. Boulos says the development will inject new life into the neighborhood. Architect renderings are being prepared.

Boulos is best known for developing the area east of I-5 between W Smith Road and Slater Road known as Pacific Industrial Park. It is home to many light-industrial, service and retail businesses.
