Some out-of-town visitors had just parked and were about to have lunch at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit on Main Street Sunday afternoon when their SUV was hit from behind.

Fortunately, the driver of the parked SUV only needed a little ice on his arm after the Chevrolet Suburban he was in had been hit. He said he was going to open his door when the collision occurred.

A Chevrolet Corvette driven by a Blaine man was going too fast while attempting to turn westbound onto Main Street from 3rd Avenue, according to Ferndale Police.

The Corvette had front end damage but was able to be driven away. The Suburban had a tire flattened by the collision.

The occupants of the Suburban were still able to enjoy their lunch.
