Two primary routes into Ferndale will be blocked for about 3 hours Saturday during the Old Settlers’ Parade.
The Washington Street detour route and Main Street are both parts of the Old Settlers’ Parade route. As a result, both are expected to be closed Saturday from approximately 10am to 1pm.
Alternate routes in and out of town via I-5 include Portal Way via Brown Road to the north and Slater Road via Imhof Road to the south.
The parade route this year begins at the Ferndale High School parking lot due to the Washington Street construction project. The route continues east on Vista Drive to 3rd Avenue, 3rd Avenue to Main Street, Main Street to 1st Avenue then south to Pioneer Park (see map below).
Once the parade is over, the 3rd Avenue and Vista Drive detour route around the Washington Street project will reopen as will Main Street.
