Old Settlers parades to follow new routes through Ferndale this year

FERNDALE, Wash. — Whatcom Old Settlers Picnic begins this Friday, July 28th, and the Junior and Grand parades held on Saturday are known for drawing big crowds.

This year, the parade routes will follow new paths through downtown Ferndale as shown on the maps below.

JUNIOR PARADE ROUTE

Junior Parade route starts at 3rd Avenue and Main Street and ends at Pioneer Park

GRAND PARADE ROUTE

Grand Parade route starts at 2nd Avenue and Alder Street and ends at 4th Avenue and Main Street.

The following roads around the parade routes will be closed beginning at 10:40am on Saturday.

  • Main Street at Hovander Road (east side of the river bridge)
  • Main Street at Hamlin Road (near the library)
  • Ferndale Road at Star Park

The Junior Parade is scheduled to begin at 11am and the Grand Parade will follow.
