In Loving Memory of Lana Wright Frazier

It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of Lana Wright Frazier’s peaceful passing on the morning of November 30, 2023, after her brave battle with cancer, surrounded in love with family by her side.
Born on August 3, 1966, to Kathy (Stamm-Wright-Macmillan) and Jerrell (Eddy) Wright, Lana’s life was a testament to love, compassion, and unwavering dedication.
Lana was preceded in death by her father, Jerrell, and her grandparents, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories. She is survived by her mother, Kathy, her brother Jay, and her children, Jordan, Logan, and Lenaya. Lana’s love extended beyond her immediate family, reaching out to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends touched by her warmth.
A graduate of Bellingham High School in 1984, Lana furthered her education, earning a college degree from Washington State University in 2010. Her professional journey led her to Whatcom Community College, where she served as the College’s Curriculum and Scheduling Specialist. Lana’s dedication and commitment to helping others better their lives through education were evident in the 40 years of service to Whatcom Community College, making her the institution’s longest serving employee at the time of her passing. Lana was an integral member of Whatcom Community College, and her death has been deeply felt on the college’s campus. In honor of her years of service and dedication to improving lives through education, a Lana Frazier Memorial Scholarship has been established to support classified staff in furthering their education.
Lana’s heart was as expansive as her accomplishments. She had an extraordinary ability to offer a helping hand, and her kindness knew no bounds. Her dedication to family and friends was unparalleled, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Her love for the outdoors reflected Lana’s zest for life. Whether camping, hiking or simply embracing the beauty of nature, Lana found solace and joy in the great outdoors. Her adventurous spirit was shared with family, friends, and furry companions, creating cherished memories that will forever be held close to the hearts of those who knew her.
A springtime celebration of life is being planned to honor Lana’s remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Lana’s honor to Whatcom Hospice Foundation, Whatcom Community College Foundation’s Lana Frazier Memorial Scholarship, Whatcom County Big Brothers Big Sisters, Skookum Kids, or Royal Family Kids Camp.
Lana’s memory will endure through the lives she touched, the love she shared, and the positive impact she made on her community. May she find eternal peace among the angels in heaven.
