Katherine was born in Lewiston, Idaho, but spent most of her childhood in the Vancouver, Washington, area. After graduating high school she moved to Bellingham to attend WWU. Upon graduating, she began working at the Bellingham Police Department and continued working there until her retirement. She is survived by her only child, Kyle, and her younger siblings, Christy and David.
