WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The National Weather Service in Seattle today, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 1pm, issued a wind advisory due to gusts expected to reach 45mph.

- WHAT…Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
- WHERE…Island County, Lowlands of Western Whatcom County, and Port Townsend Area.
- WHEN…Until 5 AM PDT Wednesday.
- IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

A well-defined low-pressure weather system that has formed west of Vancouver Island is responsible for the forecast high winds. It is not expected to move away or dissipate very quickly. As a result windy and rainy conditions are forecast for the next few days.
