NWS issues wind advisory through 2pm Friday

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The National Weather Service in Seattle today, Friday, October 24, 2025, at 2am, issued a wind advisory due to gusts expected to reach 45 to 50mph.

  • WHAT…South winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph expected.
  • WHERE…Island County, Lowlands of Western Whatcom County, Port Townsend Area, and San Juan County.
  • WHEN…From 5 AM early this morning to 2 PM PDT this afternoon.
  • IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Instructions
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicles. Secure outdoor objects.
