Northwest Washington Theatre Group (NWTG) has been preparing since late February Friday’s opening of Woody Allen’s “Don’t Drink the Water” at the Ferndale High School Auditorium.
The play will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as next week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the curtain going up at 7pm each night.
This isn’t the first performance the all-volunteer non-profit group has brought to Ferndale. Most recently NWTG performed “Arsenic & Old Lace” last October at the FHS auditorium. According to NWTG spokesperson Rosie Carter, “That was the first time we’ve been able to have a production at Ferndale High School and we absolutely love the theater there!”
According to Carter, there are 20 cast and crew involved in producing the show and several of them, including co-director Isaiah Assink, are from the Ferndale area.
Carter said NWTG was founded in 2003 by a group of residents from Northwest Washington State who had the desire to form a local community theatre project and offer quality family-friendly entertainment. NWTG has produced a total of 35 shows since.
