The City had put out notices, set up signs ahead of time and prepped Main Street for a lane stripes painting project scheduled for last Friday. And then, nothing happened. According to staff at Whatcom County Public Works who were contracted to do the painting, the potential for rain shut the project down forcing it to be rescheduled.
Today, August 27th, the City of Ferndale announced that the project has been rescheduled for next Friday, September 7th.
As before, bike lanes are due to get a major repainting with touch-ups elsewhere. The City promises Main Street will remain open while the work goes on but there will be no parking from 6:30am to 9am.
