WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. —Responders are recovering gasoline from 2 waterways after a pipeline spill was discovered early today, Sunday, December 10th.
Officials with the Washington State Department of Transportation reported all lanes of SR534 were closed about 7am today.
Washington State Department of Ecology reported, “A vault connected to the pipeline spilled gas into Hill Ditch and Bulson Creek. Responders are recovering gasoline from the water.”
As a result of the spill and subsequent response, SR534 is closed from the I-5 off-ramp to Bulson Road.
Officials with nearby Conway Elementary School reportedly canceled classes tomorrow.
