All lanes of southbound I-5 between the Alger/Lk Samish Road (mp240) and Bow Hill Road (mp236) interchanges are closed this morning. Traffic has been detoured via Old Highway 99.
The closure began at approximately 2am according Washington Department of Transportation officials as crews worked to unload a semi trailer after it became disabled due to a fire yesterday evening.
Drivers are advised to head out early. No estimate is available for when the lanes will be reopened.

1 lane of southbound I-5 has been reopened and the 2nd lane is said to be reopening soon.
