FERNDALE, Wash. — A crash involving a Honda CRV and a semi truck caused both lanes of northbound I-5 at Whatcom Creek to be blocked about 2:20pm today, Monday, May 20th.
According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Heather Axtman, there were no significant injuries and, as of 2:45pm, tow trucks were enroute to clear the scene. It was expected both lanes would be reopened shortly after they completed their work.
As of 2:50pm, the traffic backup stretched about 4 miles, reaching past the Fairhaven Parkway interchange.
At 3:15pm, the WSP announced both lanes had been reopened.
It’s still pretty much a parking lot on I-5 (as of 4:15p) as far south as exit 252.
