Mt Baker Highway temporarily closed following fatal crash

GLACIER, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 11:30pm on Monday, November 21st, to a section of the Mount Baker Highway west of Cornell Creek Road due to a report of a rollover crash.

Washington State Patrol initial investigation determined that a 21-year-old Sequim woman was driving a 1991 Toyota Corolla eastbound when it crossed to the shoulder of the road. The driver overcorrected and the Toyota rolled and the driver was ejected. The driver was declared deceased at the scene.

Traffic was blocked in both directions at the crash scene. Washington State Department of Transportation reported the road had reopened about 5am.

The driver was determined to not have been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and drugs/alcohol were not considered factors in the crash.
