SUMAS, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 3:30am this morning, October 21st, due to a report of a motorcycle crash in the 5400 block of South Pass Road in Sumas.
Whatcom County Fire District 14 Fire Chief Jerry DeBruin told Whatcom News they arrived to find the driver had tumbled down a several foot slope after leaving the roadway on a corner. The WCFD14 crew were able to descend the slope, package the patient for transport and then ascend the slope with the patient.
The motorcycle driver was transported from the scene by ambulance to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center under advance life support (ALS) protocols.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
