More wind and rain in the short-term weather forecast

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — National Weather Service (NWS) Seattle office forecasters have issued a wind advisory the goes into effect tomorrow morning, Wednesday, September 29th.

According to the advisory statement issued this afternoon, sustained southeast winds of 30 to 40mph with gusts to 45mph are expected in San Juan County and Western Whatcom County from 11am Wednesday to 3am Thursday. Forecast models indicate the strongest winds are expected in the late Wednesday and early Thursday.

During the same time, there is a high probability of rain with a half to an inch of rainfall expected.

Winds are expected to decrease Thursday morning but breezy conditions are still expected to linger into the afternoon.
