BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the northbound lanes of I-5 north of the W Bakerview Road interchange about 3:30pm on Friday, April 25, 2025, due to reports of a rollover crash with a vehicle ending up on Pacific Highway.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) told Whatcom News their initial investigation showed a car traveling northbound on I-5 struck the right rear of a slowing truck, left the roadway to the east and ended up in the ditch along Pacific Highway near Thomas Road.

The driver and passenger of the car were both transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The 60-year-old male driver of the truck was uninjured.

WSP cited the 20-year-old driver with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
