UPDATED: Main Street in Ferndale closed temporarily

FERNDALE, Wash. — Law enforcement from multiple agencies closed Main Street in the area of the Nooksack River bridge this morning, December 20th, shortly after 6am.

Ferndale Police and the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office were involved in an incident that required temporarily closing the road to traffic in both directions at Hovander Road on the east side and 1st Avenue on the west.

The incident involved an individual in crisis and there was no danger to the public.

The incident was safely resolved about 7am and the road reopened in both directions soon after.
