M7.2 earthquake in the Philippines yields no tsunami concern for US Pacific coast states

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — A M7.2 earthquake near the island of Mindanao, in the Philippine Islands, was recorded this morning, August 11th, at about 10:45am Pacific Time.

The US National Tsunami Warning Center issued a statement about 11am reporting “There is no tsunami danger for the U.S. West Coast, British Columbia, or Alaska.”
